Open Heavens Devotional Today – 21st May 2026

    OPEN HEAVENS
DAILY DEVOTIONAL – DATE: THURSDAY MAY 21ST 2026_

    TOPIC: GOD ABOVE ALL

    MEMORISE:
“For I know that the LORD is great, and that our Lord is above all gods.” Psalm 135:5

    BIBLE READING: PSALMS 95:1-6

1 O come, let us sing unto the LORD: let us make a joyful noise to the rock of our salvation.

2 Let us come before his presence with thanksgiving, and make a joyful noise unto him with psalms.

3 For the LORD is a great God, and a great King above all gods.

4 In his hand are the deep places of the earth: the strength of the hills is his also.

5 The sea is his, and he made it: and his hands formed the dry land.

6 O come, let us worship and bow down: let us kneel before the LORD our maker.

    *MESSAGE:*
In Exodus 7:10, when Moses and Aaron went to Pharaoh bearing a message from the Lord, they demonstrated the power of the One who sent them by casting down Aaron’s rod, and it turned into a snake. The Egyptian magicians also turned their rods into snakes, but it soon became obvious that all power belongs to God, as the snake from Aaron’s rod swallowed all the magicians’ snakes. The devil might attempt to copy God, but he will always fail because God is above all (1 Chronicles 29:11-12). For instance, the devil has given many people wealth through various unholy means, but my God is the only One who gives power to get wealth (Deuteronomy 8:18). Furthermore, the wealth that comes from God’s blessing is without sorrow (Proverbs 10:22).

The Almighty God can change the unchangeable. He can take a beggar from a dunghill and cause him or her to dine with princes (1 Samuel 2:8). He can also do the impossible. In one night, He delivered His people from slavery in Egypt (Exodus 12:31-33). He also provided food for them for 40 years in the wilderness. He fed them with the food of angels and gave them meat throughout their journey to the Promised Land (Psalm 78:24-25).

Furthermore, they didn’t need new clothes or shoes because their clothes and shoes did not wear out (Deuteronomy 29:5). The God who did all these wonders can do exceeding abundantly above all you can ask or think (Ephesians 3:20). He can meet your needs effortlessly because the cattle upon a thousand hills are His (Psalm 50:10), and all the silver and gold in the world belong to Him (Haggai 2:8). He owns the whole earth and everything within it (Psalm 24:1). He is God above all gods (2 Chronicles 2:5); the King of kings and Lord of lords (1 Timothy 6:15).

Beloved, isn’t it amazing that the One who is above all is your Father? He has given you access to all His wisdom, riches, glory, power, grace, and goodness, and all He expects from you is your praise and worship. He expects your love and devotion, and He truly deserves it all. If you really want God’s special attention and you want to experience His almightiness, ask Him to give you a heart of worship today because He will give His attention, which will come with all that He has, to those who worship Him in spirit and in truth (John 4:23-24).

    PRAYER POINT:
Father, thank You for calling me Your own. Please, give me a heart that loves to worship You at all times.

BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: NEHEMIAH 1-3

HYMN 18: PRAISE TO THE LORD THE ALMIGHTY, THE KING OF CREATION

1 Praise to the Lord, the Almighty, the King of creation!
O my soul, praise him, for he is Thy health and salvation!
    Join the great throng,
    Psaltery, organ, and song,
    Sounding in glad adoration.

    2 Praise to the Lord,
    over all things He gloriously reigneth;
Borne as on eagle-wings, safely His saints,
    He sustaineth,
    Hath thou not seen
How all thou needeth hath been,
    Granted in what He ordaineth!

3 Praise to the Lord, who doth prosper thy way and defend thee,
    Surely His goodness and mercy shall ever attend thee;
    Ponder anew,
    What the Almighty can do,
Who with His love doth befriend thee.

    4 Praise to the Lord!
O let all that is in me adore Him!
All that hath breath join with Abraham’s
    Seed to adore Him!
    Let the “Amen”
    Sum all our praises again
Now as we worship before Him.

  • Powerful Psalm for Protection: Deep Prayers, Scriptures, and Spiritual Strategies for Divine Safety

Powerful Psalm for Protection: Deep Prayers, Scriptures, and Spiritual Strategies for Divine Safety

Protection is one of the most consistent themes throughout the Book of Psalms. In moments of fear, uncertainty, or spiritual attack, believers have long turned to these sacred writings as a shield.

Among all protective scriptures, Psalm 91 remains the most widely revered for invoking divine covering, angelic protection, and total security under God’s authority.

This expanded guide delivers a comprehensive, spiritually grounded approach to using psalms for protection covering powerful prayers, additional protective psalms, practical application strategies, and deeper spiritual insights for daily living.

A Powerful Psalm for Protection (Extended Prayer)

    Heavenly Father,
I come before You today acknowledging that You alone are my refuge and fortress. I hide under the shadow of Your wings, knowing that in Your presence, I am safe.

Lord, according to Your word in Psalm 91, I declare that I dwell in Your secret place. No evil shall come near me, and no danger shall overtake my life. Cover me with Your feathers and let Your truth be my shield and armor.

Father, protect me from every visible and invisible danger. Deliver me from hidden traps, spiritual attacks, and every plan of the enemy. Let every negative word spoken against me be rendered powerless.

I reject fear, anxiety, and every form of intimidation. I stand firm in Your promises. I will not fear the terror of the night, nor the arrows that fly by day, because You are with me always.

Send Your angels, O Lord, to guard me in all my ways. Let them stand watch over my home, my family, my work, and everything that concerns me.

Father, wherever I go, let Your presence go before me. Preserve my life, guide my steps, and establish me in safety. I declare that I am divinely protected, covered, and secured under Your authority.

Thank You, Lord, for Your constant protection. I rest in Your peace and live in Your safety.

    In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Psalm 91 (The Foundation of Divine Protection)

Psalm 91 is often described as a spiritual fortress. It establishes a covenant of protection for those who trust in God.

Key declarations from this psalm include:

    • God is your refuge and fortress
    • Protection from deadly dangers and hidden traps
    • Freedom from fear, both day and night
    • Divine covering and safety
    • Angelic guardianship

This psalm does not suggest that danger won’t exist—it assures that you will be preserved through it.

    Other Powerful Psalms for Protection

While Psalm 91 is central, several other psalms reinforce divine protection in different dimensions:

    Psalm 23 – Protection Through God’s Presence
This psalm emphasizes that even in the “valley of the shadow of death,” God’s presence removes fear and provides comfort.

Psalm 121 – Protection from All Harm
Declares that God neither sleeps nor slumbers and continually watches over you.

Psalm 27 – Confidence Against Fear and Enemies
Focuses on courage, declaring that the Lord is your light and salvation.

Psalm 46– Refuge in Times of Trouble
Affirms God as a present help in times of crisis and instability.

Each of these psalms addresses different aspects of protection—emotional, physical, spiritual, and situational.

Midnight Psalm for Protection (Spiritual Warfare Prayer)

    Heavenly Father,
In this quiet hour, I stand upon Your word and declare my safety. Every force of darkness assigned against me is broken.

According to Psalm 91, I cancel every evil plan operating in the night. No weapon formed against me shall prosper.

Lord, let Your fire surround me. Let Your angels take charge over my environment. Every negative presence is driven out by Your power.

I declare that my sleep is peaceful, my home is secure, and my life is hidden in You.

    In Jesus’ name, Amen.

How to Effectively Use Psalms for Protection

Using psalms for protection goes beyond casual reading – it involves intentional spiritual engagement:

Start by speaking the psalms aloud daily. There is power in declaration.
Personalize the verses by inserting your name or situation.
Repeat them consistently, especially during moments of fear or uncertainty.
Pray with focus and belief, not just routine.
Combine scripture reading with meditation to internalize the promises.

Consistency transforms these scriptures from words into lived realities.

    Signs You Need Protection Prayers

There are moments when protection prayers become especially necessary:

    • Persistent fear or anxiety without clear cause
    • Repeated negative experiences or setbacks
    • Feeling spiritually drained or attacked
    • Entering unfamiliar or risky environments
    • Periods of major life transition

In such seasons, leaning on and related scriptures provides stability and assurance.

The Spiritual Principle Behind Psalms of Protection

Psalms for protection operate on a fundamental principle: alignment with divine authority. When you declare these scriptures, you are not merely reciting words—you are invoking a covenant.

Protection, in this sense, is not accidental. It is rooted in trust, obedience, and consistent faith. The more you engage with these scriptures, the more your mindset shifts from fear to confidence.

    Final Reflection

True protection is not just about avoiding harm—it is about living with the unshakable confidence that you are covered at all times. Through Psalm 91 and other powerful psalms, you establish a spiritual shield that guards your life, your family, and your future.

When consistently declared, these psalms become more than scriptures – they become your daily defense system.

  • Psalm 23 Prayer: A Powerful Declaration for Protection, Guidance and Divine Provision

Psalm 23 Prayer: A Powerful Declaration for Protection, Guidance and Divine Provision

Psalm 23 remains one of the most profound and widely recited passages in the Bible, offering reassurance, peace, and unwavering confidence in God’s presence. It portrays God as a shepherd – one who provides, guides, protects, and sustains His people through every season of life.

Below is a deeply structured and spiritually enriching Psalm 23 prayer you can use daily for strength, protection, and divine covering.

    Psalm 23 Prayer (Powerful Version)

    Heavenly Father,
You are my Shepherd, and because of You, I lack nothing. You supply all my needs according to Your riches in glory. You lead me into places of peace and rest, and You restore every part of my life that is broken.

Lord, guide me in the path of righteousness. Order my steps and align my life with Your will. Even when I walk through difficult seasons, I will not fear, because You are with me. Your presence surrounds me, and Your power protects me.

Father, comfort me in times of trouble. Strengthen me when I feel weak. Let Your rod and Your staff defend me against every attack—both seen and unseen.

You prepare blessings for me even in the presence of those who oppose me. You anoint my head with oil, and my life overflows with favor, grace, and abundance.

Surely, goodness and mercy shall follow me every day of my life. I declare that I will dwell in Your presence forever, secure and covered under Your divine protection.

    In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Psalm 23 (For Prayer and Meditation)

“The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.
He makes me lie down in green pastures.
He leads me beside still waters.
    He restores my soul.
He leads me in paths of righteousness for His name’s sake.
Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death,
    I will fear no evil, for You are with me;
Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me.
    You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies;
You anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows.
Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life,
and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.”

Why Psalm 23 Prayer Is Powerful

Psalm 23 is not just poetry, it is a spiritual declaration. It affirms that God provides what you need, guides your life, restores your strength, and remains with you even in life’s darkest moments.

It also emphasizes that challenges will come, but God’s presence ensures you are never alone, giving you confidence and peace even in adversity.

How to Use Psalm 23 as a Daily Prayer

Pray it in the morning to commit your day into God’s hands.
Declare it at night for protection and peace.
Use it during difficult moments to remind yourself of God’s presence.
Personalize each verse by turning it into a direct conversation with God.

  • 12 Dangerous Prayers to Destroy Evil Altars

12 Dangerous Prayers to Destroy Evil Altars

Do you feel like there are operations of evil altars waging war around you? Evil altars enforce evil patterns, change the course of men’s life and many other things. that is why I have prepared these prayers to destroy evil altars.

    Prayers to Destroy Evil Altars

It does not matter what the altars in your life are doing in the negative. With these prayers, you are going to destroy them.

Let’s get into the prayers against evil altars already:

12 Prayers to Destroy Evil Altars

    1. Father, in the name of Jesus, I command every evil altar speaking against my destiny to catch fire now.
“Break down their altars, smash their sacred stones…” – Exodus 34:13

    2. Every family altar resisting my breakthrough, be dismantled and scattered by the thunder of God.
“They broke down the altars of the Baals in his presence…” – 2 Chronicles 34:4

    3. I decree that any voice speaking from any shrine or evil covenant altar to delay my life shall be silenced permanently.
“No weapon formed against you shall prosper, and every tongue that shall rise against you…” – Isaiah 54:17

    4. Oh Lord, let the fire of the Holy Ghost locate every hidden altar working against my name and destroy it completely.
“For our God is a consuming fire.” – Hebrews 12:29

    5. By the blood of Jesus, I disconnect my life from every evil foundation tied to ancestral altars.
“They overcame him by the blood of the Lamb…” – Revelation 12:11

    6. I command every evil priest ministering against my life on any altar to fall down and die by fire.
“The Lord brings the counsel of the nations to nothing…” – Psalm 33:10

    7. Every token, sacrifice, or blood that was used to empower any altar against my progress, be nullified by the blood of Jesus.
“Having canceled the written code… He took it away, nailing it to the cross.” – Colossians 2:14

    8. I declare that any evil altar where my name or picture has been placed, catch fire now in the name of Jesus.
“Then the fire of the Lord fell and consumed the burnt sacrifice…” – 1 Kings 18:38

    9. Every generational altar controlling the pattern of delay and failure in my family, I destroy you now by divine judgment.
“The Lord is known by the judgment He executes…” – Psalm 9:16

    10. Oh God arise and let Your earthquake scatter every shrine, grove, and demonic place where my name has been mentioned for evil.
“At the presence of the Lord, the earth trembles…” – Psalm 114:7

    11. Any evil altar demanding sacrifice before I can rise, I shut you down by the power in the name of Jesus.
“I have given you authority to trample on snakes and scorpions…” – Luke 10:19

    12. Let the thunder of God visit every altar, every priest, every power that is prolonging my affliction and let them be wasted forever.
“The voice of the Lord strikes with flashes of lightning.” – Psalm 29:7

    Conclusion

So when you see a battle that keeps repeating itself or a life that keeps going around the same cycle again and again what you are likely dealing with is not a surface issue but something spiritual and deep and oftentimes it is an evil altar that has been established for years and is now crying out and demanding to be honored in the lives of descendants.

But you are not helpless and you are not without a weapon because every believer has access to the altar of Jesus that is higher than every other altar and if you lift your voice from that place in prayer you can command fire upon those altars and you will see that what was once standing against you will begin to crumble one after the other.

Use these prayers to destroy evil altars over time and don’t just pray once and stop — keep speaking against those altars keep breaking the tokens and keep rising in power because God has given you the victory and every altar speaking against you is going to bow.

  • 7 Prayers for Depression and Anxiety with Bible Verses

7 Prayers for Depression and Anxiety with Bible Verses

Depression is real and we won’t even begin to gaslight you about it. But accepting that is real does not mean it is okay.

That is why I have come up with these 10 prayers for depression and anxiety with Bible verses to break that hold of the devil.

Prayers for Depression and Anxiety with Bible Verses

And frankly that is what depression is.

It is a yoke of the devil. God does not want you to be depressed. The Bible repeatedly talks about joy and rejoicing and there’s no way God would be happy when you are depressed or feeling anxious.

But you know who’s happy when you are in that state?

    Of course, the devil.

He knows that when you have joy, you will love God more, you will serve God better, you will love those around you, you will do good and happy things.

If he succeeds to make you feel sad and anxious, then he can keep you gloomy.

That is why you must see depression and anxiety as warfare. With these prayers for depression and anxiety with Bible verses, you will wage a good warfare against the devil’s ploy.

Prayers for Depression and Anxiety with Bible Verses

Lord, please deliver me from every trouble that looms over me. Save me from this crushing weight that my soul feels and I will rejoice forever more.

When the righteous cry for help, the Lord hears, and delivers them out of all their distress and troubles.

The Lord is close to those who are of a broken heart and saves such as are crushed with sorrow for sin and are humbly and thoroughly penitent. – Psalm 34:17-18.

Verse 17 says that the Lord will hear and deliver the righteous when they cry. That is why you must pray. Because God will hear you and He will come quickly to deliver you.

Father, I am afraid and weakened in the face of these troubles around me. Reassure me that You are with me and strengthen me to face these difficulties.

Fear not [there is nothing to fear], for I am with you; do not look around you in terror and be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen and harden you to difficulties, yes, I will help you; yes, I will hold you up and retain you with My [victorious] right hand of rightness and justice. – Isaiah 41:10.

There are battles that you cannot run from.

Now when these battles of life begin to rage more than you expected or more than your strength could bear, you begin to feel left alone.

That is when the devil creeps in with fear, worry, depression, and anxiety.

At this point, all you need is the reassurance that God’s presence is with you and together with that you can apply for strength to face the situation head-on.

Father, speak comfort into my mind and soul. When these restless thoughts rage in my heart, let Your words console and comfort me O Lord.

In the multitude of my [anxious] thoughts within me, Your comforts cheer and delight my soul! – Psalm 94:19.

I recall a time when I felt depressed and it is the word of God that lifted me. Listening to sermons from my pastor and studying the word for myself.

It was all that helped me. That is comfort to the mind and soul.

Lord, I choose to come to You with all that bothers me. I refuse to worry over the things I cannot do or fix because I know You are my Father and You care for me. Give me peace and help me trust in You. Amen

Do not fret or have any anxiety about anything, but in every circumstance and in everything, by prayer and petition (definite requests), with thanksgiving, continue to make your wants known to God.

And God’s peace [shall be yours, that tranquil state of a soul assured of its salvation through Christ, and so fearing nothing from God and being content with its earthly lot of whatever sort that is, that peace] which transcends all understanding shall garrison and mount guard over your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus. – Philippians 4:6-7

I once heard someone say that when you worry, it is because you have not submitted the matter to God.

As you pray this prayer, it is not about making a decision not to worry alone. It is also about saying, God I am handing over the matter to You because I know You can fix it.

If you keep worrying after praying, then you have not prayed enough. Pray again. You must pray until you get to a point where you are confident that God has heard You and the matter is solved.

It does not matter if the problem lingers physically. For you, God has taken control – this is how we pray to cure depression and anxiety in life.

Father, I am tired of carrying these burdens myself. I submit them at Your feet and ask that You give rest to my weary soul.

Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy-laden and overburdened, and I will cause you to rest. [I will ease and relieve and refresh your souls.] – Matthew 11:28

I remember when it felt like everyone around me was depending on me for some financial favor or the other.

At that point, I was not even doing well financially.

So I had people who needed my help and I could not help them. This led me to bouts of depression.

It can happen to you too. That is why you should never assume that you can do life with your strength.

You should not wait until you begin to be overwhelmed or until you have tried everything before you call on the Master.

My hope is in God, My trust in God. I will not be moved by my situation, I will not be anxious by the things I can’t control, and I will not be depressed when things do not go as planned

This is more of a declaration or affirmation.

    It is drawn from the book of Psalms 42:11;

Why are you cast down, O my inner self? And why should you moan over me and be disquieted within me? Hope in God and wait expectantly for Him, for I shall yet praise Him, Who is the help of my countenance, and my God.

Speak to your soul and tell it not to be downcast.

Say it for as long as you can until you feel calm and warmth in your inner man. Sometimes, it is our confession of being depressed and being anxious that invites the devil to heap more heaviness on us.

Instead, confess this prayer for depression and anxiety above.

Father, I cast every anxiety I feel on You. I lay my depressing thoughts at Your feet and embrace the care and love You have for me.

Casting the [a]whole of your care [all your anxieties, all your worries, all your concerns, [b]once and for all] on Him, for He cares for you affectionately and cares about you [c]watchfully. – 1 Peter 5:7

You do not need to carry those thoughts and those feelings. Submit them to God and He will bear them for you.

Pray This Emergency Prayer for Anxiety and Panic Attacks + 5 More Prayer Points

Are you suffering from panic attacks? Is anxiety ripping you off joy and peace? Then this prayer for anxiety and panic attacks will fix that:

“Father, quieten my heart and steady my breathing. Saturate my heart with Your peace and push fear out of my heart. Your word says you will keep me in perfect peace if my heart stays on You. I put my trust in You. I believe you are with me and I am safe in You. These panic attacks are not my reality and so I ask that Your presence calm my mind right now. Hold me steady, reassure me Lord Jesus, and I will praise and rejoice in You forever. Amen.”

That is one prayer for anxiety and panic attacks that will work effectively for you.

I have also provided five more prayers for anxiety and panic attacks that you can continue to use to pray until those episodes of panic attacks stop and you experience total peace.

I need you to know that panic attacks and anxiety is not God’s plan for you. The Bible even says that we should not be anxious about anything – Philippians 4:6.

This is why you must deal with anxiety – it prevents you from receiving anything from God.

Yes, anxiety is a tool in the hands of the devil. It is as terrible as anger, as bitterness, and so on.

So pray these prayers for anxiety and panic attacks with all anger in your spirit.

prayer for anxiety and panic attacks

    1. “Lord, calm my mind and silence every storm.”

Scripture: “You will keep in perfect peace those whose minds are stayed on You, because they trust in You.”Isaiah 26:3.

Father, I ask that You keep my mind steady and let Your peace override the fear that is rising in me. I ask that my mind be fixed on thoughts of You, Your word, and promises to me and let these drown the anxiety in my heart. Give me peace O Lord.

Sometimes, anxiety is sponsored by our recognition of our incapacity. If you feel like you cannot do something yourself or you do not have the means to achieve something, one response could be anxiety.

    It is a wrong one.

Your only response should be trusting firmly in God. That is what this prayer for anxiety and panic attacks does for you.

    2. “God, fill my heart with Your peace instead of fear.”

Scripture: “And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”Philippians 4:7

Lord, place Your peace over my heart and let it stand guard keeping fear and panic from me. I receive peace instead of fear and I live in that reality from today.

The only cure to fear is the peace of the Lord. This is not some temporal assurance of safety. This is the faith that God is with You and He is for you. That is peace and when you pray this prayer for anxiety and panic attacks, you automatically begin to live in that reality.

    3. “Lord, break the spirit of fear attacking me.”

Scripture: “God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind.”2 Timothy 1:7.

For a lot of people, anxiety and panic attacks are projections of the spirit of fear. This prayer for anxiety and panic attacks is one of warfare. You are attacking the spirit that sponsors fear – there is a spirit that does this and until you deal with it, no matter the coping mechanism, you will not defeat fear.

    Pray this prayer:

God, this fear is not from You. So I reject it. Give me power where I feel weak, love where I feel unsafe, and a sound mind where panic tries to scatter my thoughts.

    4. “Father, I surrender every burden weighing on my heart.”

Scripture: “Cast all your anxiety on Him, because He cares for you.”1 Peter 5:7

Lord, I empty my heart before You and I put these worries – these uncertainties, the pressure, the fear I feel – I put them all in Your hands and I ask that You carry these burdens for me because I cannot hold them again.

This prayer is just obedience to the word of God. He specifically asks us to cast our anxiety on Him because He cares for us.

I mean what are we anxious about when He has already said we should bring those anxieties to Him and the reason is because He cares about us.

    Cmon now.

He cares. God cares about how you feel and that includes even the smallest things. Your hairline that’s receding? He cares. The pimple in your forehead that’s making you worry? He cares about these little details.

    Don’t believe that?

    See what the word says:

Look at the birds of the air; they neither sow [seed] nor reap [the harvest] nor gather [the crops] into barns, and yet your heavenly Father keeps feeding them. Are you not worth much more than they? – Matthew 6:26 (AMP).

If God cares about the birds and plants are you not more important than them?

So why are you worried that He doesn’t care about the nitty-gritty of your life?

The hair on your head is numbered. Is it something as terrible as the fear in your heart that He won’t want to tackle?

    5. “God, strengthen me when I feel overwhelmed.”

Scripture: “When my heart is overwhelmed, lead me to the Rock that is higher than I.”Psalm 61:2.

A lot of times, you get to feel anxious and get these panic attacks because you are overwhelmed.

    We have all been there.

So pray this prayer for anxiety and panic attacks when it is because you are feeling overwhelmed:

Lord, I am overwhelmed but I know that You are more than the things I worry about. So, I can come to You today knowing that I can find strength in You. You are stronger than my fear, than this task, than the situation at hand, than my panicking. Thank You Lord, Amen.

    Conclusion

I am sure that with these prayers, anxiety and panic attacks will be gone from your life.

Here’s a final note, nobody really gets over anxiety. It is a constant battle of life so you have to constantly fight the devil and never allow him have the final say.

  • 7 Prayers For Strength During Difficult Times

7 Prayers For Strength During Difficult Times

Life can feel very difficult at certain periods. In those times, you literally feel like you are stuck, overwhelmed, and stressed.

Prayers For Strength During Difficult Times

What you need in those periods is not motivation. Being motivated to be strengthened is good but you see strength is different from motivation.

Being strong during difficult times does not involve listening to a podcast or having a preacher say nice things about you.

It involves taking root in God and His word which is why I have compiled these prayers for strength during difficult times.

They are for you to use them to pray and become strengthened during the times you face difficulties.

We can take a cue from Jesus’ life. At the garden of Gethsemane, His strength failed Him and He went to God in prayer and as the Bible records, angels came to strengthen Him.

If Jesus needed to be strengthened, so do we and these prayers for strength in difficult times will help you.

Prayers for Strength During Difficult Times

Father, I fix my gaze on You. I refuse to look around me and consider my situation. I choose to see You in all of these things I am going through

“Fear not [there is nothing to fear], for I am with you; do not look around you in terror and be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen and harden you to difficulties, yes, I will help you; yes, I will hold you up and retain you with My [victorious] right hand of rightness and justice” – Isaiah 41:10.

The Bible says we should not be afraid and not look around us. One of the ways to draw strength from God is to look at Him. It does not matter what is going on, looking unto God brings us the strength that we need to walk through life.

It is just like Peter who was walking on water. For as long as he was looking unto Jesus, he walked but the moment he took his gaze off the Master and looked at the sea, then he began to sink.

You will cave in difficult times if you continue to look at the problems. Say this prayer for strength in difficult times:

Father, I reject fear because You are with me even when I cannot feel anything but weakness. Uphold me today, Lord, when I have no more energy left to stand. Strengthen the parts of me that have gone numb under the weight of pain. In Jesus name, Amen.

Lord, I ask that you strengthen me. Send help to me. I am weak and the weight of this situation is crunching harder than I can bear but I know You are strong and powerful. Strengthen me O Lord.

This prayer for strength in difficult times might sound helpless but yes, it is wise.

You see, the Bible does not tell us to deny the existence of the mountain. It says we should say to the mountain. So, we can acknowledge our weakness to God and apply for His strength.

We have this promise in Psalm 20:2 which says:

Send you help from the sanctuary and support, refresh, and strengthen you from Zion.

    The Bible also says in Isaiah 40:29;

He gives power to the faint and weary, and to him who has no might He increases strength [causing it to multiply and making it to abound].

Father, I pray for grace – just as you gave Apostle Paul – let your grace saturate my life and show your strength through my weakness

But He said to me, My grace (My favor and loving-kindness and mercy) is enough for you [sufficient against any danger and enables you to bear the trouble manfully]; for My strength and power are made perfect (fulfilled and completed) and [a]show themselves most effective in [your] weakness – 2 Corinthians 12:9

Like Apostle Paul, when you are weak and facing times that seem too turbulent for you, all you need is for the grace of God and His strength to show up.

One reason why I like this prayer is because God can use any situation to show His glory and this prayer gives Him the permission to use your current situation as He deems fit.

Father, cause me to rise like an eagle – high above these storms, these challenges – let my strength be renewed and may I come out victorious

But those who wait for the Lord [who expect, look for, and hope in Him] shall change and renew their strength and power; they shall lift their wings and mount up [close to God] as eagles [mount up to the sun]; they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint or become tired. – Isaiah 40:29

There is strength renewal that happens when you wait on the Lord and that is what you need when you are going through tough times.

    So pray saying:

    1. Lord, I am tired in ways words can’t explain — give me Your strength today. Breathe new life into my spirit and renew what has been drained.
    2. Father, I ask that you restore my mind, my emotions, my physical body — all of it.

Father, remind me of Your Presence with me always. Let me be confident that You are with me and do not let the devil steal that away from me

I have found out that the devil tries to make us feel like God has abandoned us.

He forces us to begin to think that we are alone and God is not with us when things that to go in ways that you never envisaged.

This is why you should pray this prayer for strength in difficult times:

Lord, when I forget You are with me and start to doubt, remind me that you are always with me. Just a nudge, an encouragement from Your Spirit to mine.

    I love this scripture Joshua 1:9;

Have not I commanded you? Be strong, vigorous, and very courageous. Be not afraid, neither be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.

It is something I take to God whenever I feel like the hard seasons of my life are lasting too long and God does not feel close.

Father, I cry today. Please, deliver me from my troubles. Pull me out of this situation by Your power, mercy and jealousy O Lord

When the righteous cry for help, the Lord hears, and delivers them out of all their distress and troubles. – Psalm 34:17

This is a powerful prayer for strength during difficult times. It does not really ask for strength but for a deliverance.

Sometimes, God just needs to bring you out. No negotiations, nothing. Just straight up deliverance.

Like He did with Paul and Silas and Peter when they were locked up in prison.

Lord, equip me to stand strong in the face of adversity, let me not quake or quaver, let me be bold to face uncertain times and precarious seasons

The Lord God is my Strength, my personal bravery, and my invincible army; He makes my feet like hinds’ feet and will make me to walk [not to stand still in terror, but to walk] and make [spiritual] progress upon my high places [of trouble, suffering, or responsibility] – Habakkuk 3:19

God is our Strength but what is most important for me to note from this verse above is that God can make our feet like hinds’ feet.

The reason He does this is to that we can be equipped to face hard times.

In the previous prayer point, I said we can pray for God to deliver us right. Here, I am saying sometimes God will not bring deliverance, you will have to go through it.

You will need to grow a tough skin to depression, to opposition, to poverty, to lack, and other challenging situations of life.

This prayer for strength during difficult times is what you need in such a condition.

  • 10 Prayer Points On Divine Speed With Bible Verses

10 Prayer Points On Divine Speed With Bible Verses

Divine speed is a necessity for life and if you can say these prayer points on divine speed with Bible verses you can get it.

It is not wrong to pray for speed.

Prayer Points On Divine Speed With Bible Verses

Sometimes, you may have been delayed either by the devil’s agenda or even by your mistake.

If you can pray for it, God will do it for you.

This is why I have compiled a list of 10 powerful prayers for divine speed. Each of them are based on scriptures so that we are not praying amiss and I also want you to trust the Spirit of God to inspire you to pray right.

Prayer Points on Divine Speed with Bible Verses

I once taught about divine speed some 5 years ago and I still believe that one of the best Bible verses on divine speed has to be 1 Kings 18:46 which says “The power of the Lord came on Elijah and, tucking his cloak into his belt, he ran ahead of Ahab…”

The fact that Elijah just finished praying made me believe that prayers for divine speed are incredibly accurate.

Let us go over these prayers.

Father, please lay Your hands upon me like you did to Prophet Elijah. I ask that You cause me to outrun every setback and limitation that the enemy has placed on my life.

“The power of the Lord came on Elijah… and he ran ahead of Ahab all the way to Jezreel.” – 1 Kings 18:46

Like I said, this is one of the clearest examples of Bible verses on divine speed.

We see what can happen to a man when God’s hands rest on him. Elijah was made to outrun the chariots.

No chariot could go faster than that of Ahab – this was the presidential chariot of Israel and yet a man on foot ran ahead of it.

    That is divine speed.

Lord, break every chain holding me back and deliver me from whatever is keeping me backwards in the name of Jesus

“Our soul is escaped as a bird out of the snare of the fowlers: the snare is broken, and we are escaped.” – Psalm 124:7

Sometimes, you do not need speed.

You need to escape from what is holding you back.

Until that thing is broken, then you will not move. You can picture how it feels when a goat is tied to a pillar. They can be making motion but not progress and this is what happens when you have a snare around you.

    So pray to break them.

Father, I ask that you help me recover all that I have lost and cause me to experience full restoration

“And David recovered all… and there was nothing lacking to them.” – 1 Samuel 30:18-19

One of the reasons why you should say these prayers for divine speed is not because you want to move forward in life but also for recovery and restoration.

When you have wasted time in the fulfilment of life and destiny, you need speed not because you want to go forward only but also because you want to compress time and make up for what’s lost.

That is what divine speed does for you – help you recover lost time by compressing the future for you.

Lord, give me the patience that I need to move out in speed. May I not be in an unnecessary haste

“Though it tarry… it will surely come, it will not tarry.” – Habakkuk 2:3

Sometimes, praying for divine speed begins with knowing that you are not anxious.

You see, God will not answer a prayer that comes from fleshy motivation.

If you begin to pray, God begins to speak to the heart and sometimes He could be saying just be patient. What I have for you may tarry that could be what God is saying to you.

At that point, you should not be saying prayers for divine speed but anchoring your faith in God and trusting Him for patience.

Make haste, O God. Come quickly and help me. I am tired of waiting, Lord

“Make haste, O God, to deliver me; make haste to help me, O Lord.” – Psalm 70:1

You can see that this is a prayer from the book of Psalm. God is not moved by emotionalism but from scriptures we see that a lot of people cried to God in their desperation and God came to their aid.

This is one of such cries.

I know of people and cases that have suffered retrogression for years. They are not where their energy should have taken them, they are not even where God wants them to be.

If you sense that, pray this prayer for divine speed like David did.

Father, make my feet like that of a deer. Lord, equip me to with what I need to engage speed and move forward

“He makes my feet like the feet of a deer; He causes me to stand on the heights.”Psalm 18:33

From this Bible verse, we can see that the reason the deer can run even through terrible grounds is because of the design of its feet.

The feet of the deer makes it stand firm and to make progress.

For you, there are things that God may need to do in you, teach you, reveal to you that will equip you for speed.

It could be deliverance from a mentality that is keeping you caged, it could be teaching you to stop comparing yourself to others, ridding you from appetites that will crush you when you come to the place of your destiny, and so on.

That is why this prayer is special.

Lord, restore the years I lost. Let divine speed compress every wasted season into this new one

“I will restore to you the years that the locust hath eaten…” – Joel 2:25

This gets me so emotional everytime.

It is a blessing to have such a level of restoration and I do not fail to tell people to say this prayer

    God can restore years.

If it was supposed to take you the last 10 years of your life and you lost it – either from your own doing or from the devil’s onslaught – God can compress those 10 years into the next 10 months and place you right on track.

    Isn’t that beautiful?

It is for me one of the best prayer points for divine speed with Bible verses.

  • 8 Powerful Prayers To Get Closer To God

8 Powerful Prayers To Get Closer To God

You want to get closer to God, right? This is a noble cause. It is one that all of us should desire to achieve and that’s why I have compiled this list of 8 prayers to get closer to God.

Prayers To Get Closer To God

They are prayers that I pray always because there is nothing more important than intimacy with God.

In John 17 verse 3, Jesus says “Now this is eternal life: that they may know You, the only true [supreme and sovereign] God, and [in the same manner know] Jesus [as the] Christ whom You have sent.”

Knowing God is the foundation for anything we want to do as believers. I am even excited about the fact you are trying to get closer to God and while these may not be the best prayers to get closer to God, they are going to set you on the right track.

8 Best Prayers to Get Closer to God

Father, I desire to know You. Help me to know you. Teach me your ways and cause me to know your path, O Lord

Teach me Your way, O Lord, that I may walk and live in Your truth; direct and unite my heart [solely, reverently] to fear and honor Your name. – Psalm 86:11

This is one of the best prayers to get closer to God drawn from scriptures. One of the most powerful ways to pray is to pray scriptures.

Among my daily prayers to get closer to God, I never forget to ask God to teach me His ways because it is in knowing His ways that I can become closer to Him.

Father, rid me for every pride that keeps me from You. I want to be closer to You Lord, in the name of Jesus

You might be wondering, why are we praying against pride? What does pride have to do when you need prayers to say to get closer to God?

    These scriptures will answer that:

James 4:6 “But he giveth more grace. Wherefore he saith, God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace unto the humble.”

Psalm 25:9 “The meek will he guide in judgment: and the meek will he teach his way.”

The Bible shows us that anyone who is proud will be resisted by God. He will only teach those who are meek and humble not those who are proud.

So as you are praying that God teaches you His way, you should also pray against pride which is capable of keeping you from receiving answers.

Father, stir in me a deeper thirst for Your presence until knowing You becomes my greatest need. Let my soul long for You like the deer for water, until nothing else can satisfy me

Psalm 42:1-2 “As the hart pants and longs for the water brooks, so I pant and long for You, O God. My inner self thirsts for God, for the living God. When shall I come and behold the face of God?”

In my daily prayers to get closer to God, this scripture is almost the most important. It is a cry for a soul that desires to pursue God.

You see, God grants heart desires from the sincerity of heart. If you have a genuine thirst for God, He will grant it.

Matthew 5:6 “Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled.”

If there is hunger for God, He will fill it. Now the interesting side to this is you can ask for hunger which is why you are praying this prayer

Lord Jesus, I want to know You beyond words. I want to share in Your power and in Your suffering with faith. Like Apostle Paul, reveal Yourself to me

Phil 3:10 “That I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, being made conformable unto his death;”

You know God through His word and all that but you see drawing closer to God involves knowing His power and sharing in the allocation of suffering.

This is why Apostle Paul prayed in Philippians 3 verse 10 that he may know Him. There is no knowledge of God without His power and the allocation of suffering – the suffering is the starvation of your flesh from earthly pleasures and more.

This is one of the most powerful prayers to get closer to God because you are literally setting yourself up.

Father, teach me to abide in you daily. May I never leave the place of fellowship, may I never always stay with You

John 15:4-5 “Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me. I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.”

You see the best part of that verse about is that “for without me ye can do nothing.”

That is how deep it is. Even drawing closer to God requires help from God.

No man can come to God except God draws him or her and that is why you have to stay in constant fellowship with Him.

God desires consistency and that is you will need to pray that He teaches you to abide with Him daily.

Lord, quicken me when I start to feel too weak in my pursuit of you

Psalm 80:18 “So will not we go back from thee: quicken us, and we will call upon thy name.”

There are so many prayers to say to get closer to God but you see if you are not quickened to pray, you won’t be able to pray.

That is why among my daily prayers, I pray this scripture. It is a scripture that says if God gives me strength, then I will pray.

Lord, let my one desire be to dwell in Your presence. Let this be all I seek

Psalm 27:4 “One thing have I desired of the Lord, that will I seek after; that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the Lord, and to enquire in his temple.”

You want to draw close to God, you have to love to dwell in the presence of God. This is not even about attending church – that is important – it is also about spending time in the presence of God.

It is more about spending private and personal devotion with God, in His presence.

Father, awaken my hunger for You. Set my heart on fire for you once again. I want to burn for you

Psalm 63:1-3 “O God, thou art my God; early will I seek thee: my soul thirsteth for thee, my flesh longeth for thee in a dry and thirsty land, where no water is; To see thy power and thy glory, so as I have seen thee in the sanctuary. Because thy lovingkindness is better than life, my lips shall praise thee.”

Sometimes you find yourself with a dying desire for God – like a fire about to go out. This is when Psalm 63:1-3 becomes really powerful.

It is a prayer to reawaken your hunger for God.

I recommend quoting that scripture over and over again.

    Conclusion

That does it on the best prayers to say to get closer to God. These list of prayers are not exhaustive. As you pray, with the scriptures, trust the Spirit of God to impress more prayers to your heart.
